Jones Builds on His Diverse Driving Skill Set

Continuing his open wheel racing progression, Devin Jones tested on Thursday in an F2000 Championship Series car for AcceleRace at Road Atlanta. The opportunity to test in the F2000 came on Wednesday morning when Ardie at AcceleRace called. Jones quickly jumped at the opportunity to test with AcceleRace.

“The F2000 Championship Series car from AcceleRace has a great deal of down force and adjustability,” said Jones. “Everything is very precise. You have to really feel the car and be able to relay very small bits of information to the team. In my stock car, the changes are much larger. This experience was a great opportunity. These cars really handle tremendously well.”

“The F2000 Championship Series seems like a very well run organization,” added Jones. “They bent over backwards to accommodate us for this test. Then, while talking to the race promoter, I learned that they usually get a field of 30 cars in this championship series. By what I saw on the track, these drivers are very competitive.”

“I’d like to thank Ardie and his whole crew,” said Jones. “Ardie and the AcceleRace organization were very well prepared for this testing session.”

This year you will see Devin Jones and team DJR in many different race cars – from oval to road, stock car to open wheels – as he works on building on his diverse driving skill set.
