The Turbo Blue Michigan Legends Series held its winter meeting on Saturday March 10, 2012 at the home of one of the most prestigious private car collections in North America, The Lingenfelter Collection located in Brighton, Michigan.

What started out as three cars in a modest sized home garage has developed into more than 150 unique cars housed in an immaculate 40,000 square foot building. This collection includes such unique cars as a Bugatti Veryon, an Enzo Ferrari, a number of Porsches, Lamborghinis, Corvettes of a all nature and vintage as well as some very rare Muscle Cars from the 60’s and 70’s. The Lingenfelter name is also synonymous with performance upgrades to production cars and is very well versed at increasing performance of mostly General Motors and Chrysler production cars but also works on other manufactures as well. In addition to the many collector cars are different various incarnations of what the new Camaro would like with Trans Am badging as well as the 60’s Camaro look.

The first order of business was to discuss race procedures, schedule, and conduct of all involved in the series. It was noted that this will be the 18th consecutive season of INEX Sanctioned Racing in the State of Michigan under the direction of John Turnbull Sr. and Michigan Legends Cars Inc. Quite a testament in this day and age where various racing series have been started up and tried out but have not been able to have the longevity of this organization. These 5/8 scale racers are a continuous fan favorite and the series 20 race schedule surely will provide excitement and great racing action to the fans in Michigan.

Turbo Blue Racing Fuels, distributed by Corrigan Oil returns as the title sponsor of the series for 2012 along with returning Associate sponsors, Wix Filters, NGK Iridium Spark Plugs, Joie of Seating,  and Edge Wraps graphics. It was announced that there are two new additional associate sponsors coming on board for 2012.

The first is Dr. Pepper soft drinks who come on Board as the official “soft drink” of the Turbo Blue Michigan legends Series. Dr. Pepper and its slogan 10, 2, & 4 has been a favorite of many pop drinkers for years and is sure to be a hit with the drivers and crews of the series. HyDrive Energy Drinks comes on also as the official energy drink of the series. HyDrive,  comes in six different flavors and formulas that aid in not only energy but different things such as strength, alertness, Anti-Oxidants, Electrolytes, and recovery. Look for some exciting things to be happening with beverage giveaways from these two new associates in the coming season.

The series gets its start on April 27 at the Spartan Speedway in Mason and then will go through a 20 race schedule with repeat stops at Spartan along with multiple stops at Auto City Speedway, Dixie Motor Speedway, Springport Motor Speedway, Flat Rock Speedway, Toledo Speedway, and the Owosso Speedway with the season finale on September 23rd at the Springport Motor Speedway.  The great thing about the schedule this season is that with the increased fuel prices, the teams and the fans will be able to drive anywhere within an hour to a 2 hour window of time to get to the races. That is one way that the forward thinking in the Turbo Blue Michigan Legends Series is working to provide a more economic avenue for its competitors and its fans during these times of financial difficulty with the costs of traveling to the tracks this summer.

Many of the cars and stars of the Turbo Blue Michigan Legends series will be returning this season and there will also be four drivers challenging for Rookie of the Year honors once the final checkered flag falls at the end of this 18th championship chase. So we will look for you starting in April to follow one of the longest running traveling series in the State of Michigan, the Turbo Blue Michigan Legends Series.
