Race Season Kicks off at Rockingham this Weekend
Rockingham Speedway will be abuzz with activity this weekend as the Legends and Bandoleros hit the Little Rock to kick off the Spring Fling on Sunday and the Chump Car series invade the infield road course for two days on racing on Saturday and Sunday.
“It should be a great weekend of racing at The Rock,” said Rockingham Speedway President Andy Hillenburg. “The guys who come out to race the Chump Cars have such a great time. That is such a fun race to host. To have them here the same weekend that we kick off this year’s Spring Fling for the Legends and Bandoleros is going to give our fans a lot of great, different racing in one place.”
Gates open for the Legends and Bandoleros Sunday, March 13 at 8:00 a.m. Practice rolls off at 10:00 a.m. with heat races at noon. Main events for each class will start following the heats.
The Chump cars will be taking to the track at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 12 and Sunday, March 13 as the cars will be completing double-seven-hour enduro races on the “roval” utilizing both the infield road course and portions of the oval.
Racing returns to the one-mile cars of the USAR Pro Cup and the UARA Late Model Series on May 14 for the Carolina 200.
