With his second win in the last 3 races on the UARA Series Tour, Travis Swaim is one step closer to a 2012 UARA Championship

Travis Swaim adds another Tri County win to his statistics as he gets his second UARA win of the season. With two races remaining to clench their first UARA Championship, The Falcon Racing Team showed up at Tri County Motor Speedway with everything in order.

Friday the car was almost perfect the first time it hit the track, as Travis went immediately to the top of the speed chart. He would stay at the top until late in the evening when his time would be topped by the #5 car of Jeremy Burns.

Saturday would be a day of few adjustments while working on long run setups. The team was happy with the Falcon Racing Ford after the morning session and opted to set the afternoon practice session out and prepare for qualifying.

Team Falcon pushed the car to the qualifying line optimistic on getting their 9th Sunoco Pole award of the year. Travis took to the track 4th in line and put down a lap of 16.359 sec. which would stay a top the board, until later when the #5 car of Jeremy Burns would top the field with a time of 16.313 sec. The front row would be Burns and Swaim, followed by Devin Jones and Sean Rayhall.

The start of the Alpha Energy Solutions 150 would take place at 8:00 pm. Burns takes the lead on lap 1, Travis settled into second. The first caution would wave early, on the restart after several laps of side by side racing Swaim would muscle in front of Burns for the lead spot. Travis held the lead until lap 50 when he would be taken over by the #57 of Grant Wimbish.  Wimbish holds the lead past the 100 lap mark when he is passed by the #14 of Sean Rayhall, a few laps later Swaim passes Wimbish for 2nd and sets his sites on Rayhall. With 15 laps remaining Rayhall suddenly slows on the backstretch, misfortune would strike as he has a flat right front tire.  Swaim inherits the lead position and motors to the finish line for his second UARA victory in the past 3 races. In Victory Lane Travis commented “The car was great, I could run the top or the bottom, I hate the misfortune that Sean Rayhall had because it was going to be a great race between us to the finish, and I want to thank him for racing me clean early as we were battling”. Finishing  2nd Jeremy Burns,  3rd Scott Turlington,  4th Grant Wimbish and 5th Dillon Bassett.

The Falcon Racing Teams next race will be Sat. Nov. 3rd at Rockingham for the Classic 3 Championship presented by RCR Racing Museum. Come on out to the Rock and support Travis and his Falcon Racing Team as they set their sites on winning the event and clinching their 2012 UARA Series Championship.
