Gallaher Brings Home a Top-10 Finish at Hickory
Will Gallaher raced to a top-10 finish against the competition from the NASCAR Whelen All-American Bojangles Late Models on Saturday, September 15th at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway.
Gallaher had a solid practice session on Friday night, but was sidelined from Saturday morning's two practice sessions as a result of mechanical problems. With the No. 6 Eddie Sharp Racing (ESR) Chevrolet back in working order, Gallaher picked up two-tenths from his practice speed to record his best time trial effort of the season and roll off in the 10th position.
Coming off a restart, Gallaher got out the groove and made slight contact with the outside wall resulting in some aero damage to the No. 6 ESR Chevrolet. With just slight damage, Gallaher was able to continue his pace around the historic Hickory Motor Speedway to finish the race in the 10th position.
"We were definitely the most consistent we've been all year from practice to qualifying, but we just ended up too tight as the night went on," commented Gallaher. "Coming home with a top ten definitely feels good after some of the races we've had this year. I have to thank the No. 6 ESR team for providing me with a fast car. We will all keep working hard to continue to improve as the season winds down."
Gallaher will be back behind the wheel this Friday, September 21, at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, N.C. to compete in the speedway's weekly late model stock car event.
