More Top-Tens for Marcos Ambrose Motorsport

Marcos Ambrose Motorsport had a down and up latest round of the UARA Stars Series at Caraway Raceway, with Ben Rhodes and David Garbo Jr. both finishing in the top-ten aboard their Stanley Fords.

Rhodes cemented his place in the top-five of the series point score by finishing in fifth, while Garbo Jr. backed up his fifth place UARA Stars result from Hickory Motor Speedway, placing ninth.

After starting from position five, Rhodes played a conservative strategy in the first half of the race, sitting in the top-four until being turned around on lap 123.

Restarting from seventh, Rhodes worked his way back to third place, before being spun again three laps from the end.

With a green-white-checkered flag finish to close out the race, Rhodes was able to hold onto fifth position.

For Garbo Jr. meanwhile, the race continued his steep learning curve in late model competition, with the result proving that he is heading in the right direction.

Starting from 13th place, Garbo Jr. spent the majority of the race cruising in the mid-field, waiting for the conclusion of the 150-lap race to make his move.

From the final two lap sprint to the finish, Garbo Jr. was able to advance two positions into the top-ten.

“It was a tough race, we definitely had something for the leaders, but it’s hard coming back from the problems we had,” Rhodes said.

“The UARA Stars Series is extremely competitive. You really have to drive with your elbows out."

“It was another strong race for the whole Marcos Ambrose Motorsport crew. It’s good for the championship, and we are getting closer to breaking through with a big result.”

For Garbo Jr., the result cemented his place as a future contender.

“Even though we spent most of the race mid-pack, it was very busy, and I am happy we were able to move ahead near the end,” Garbo Jnr said.

“The Marcos Ambrose Motorsport Stanley Fords are quick, and it’s great to be able to work with Ben and the guys on the team to help me get up to speed. I can’t wait to get back out there.”

Marcos Ambrose Motorsport will return to action this Saturday night at the next round of the UARA Stars Series at Concord Speedway.
