Dillon Bassett Sits Second in UARA Points
Dillon Bassett has found himself sitting in second place in UARA points heading into this weekend’s Jeff’s Auto Sales 150 race at Newport Speedway.
The driver of the Bassett Gutters #44 machine is off to a good start in his first season of running the UARA-STARS Series and is looking forward to the upcoming weekend race.
Bassett ran very impressive times during last week’s test at Newport. Dillon’s crew said “Dillon just has to save his tires and we will have a good race, plus the track has a lot of grip and that suits Dillon well”.
Bassett isn’t a rookie by any means. He dominated the limited late model division at Ace Speedway in 2011 and won the championship. Bassett knows what it takes to win. Both driver and crew have their eyes set on victory lane.
Bassett’s qualifying times have not been where they needed to be, but the team continues to make improvements and continually has a strong presence during the race. After an impressive run at Anderson Speedway, Bassett is sitting right where he wants to be in points and is chasing after his first championship and win in this series.
Bassett’s main goal this season has been to get seat time. He continues to look to his older brother Ronnie Bassett Jr. for guidance both on and off the track. The two car team strives to be the best on the track. They spend countless hours working on getting the car just right for the driver. Bassett say’s” Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard”.
