Extra Incentive for Spears SRL Southwest Tour Late Model Racers Saturday at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
When the Spears SRL Southwest Tour Late Model Series rolls into town this weekend for Saturday’s Blackjack 121, drivers will have an extra incentive – in addition to the winner’s check, trophy and the bragging rights of winning in Las Vegas – waiting for them at the finish line.
Saturday’s Blackjack 121 winner also will earn a guaranteed starting position in the All-American 400 at Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville in October. The All-American 400 now is sanctioned by Pro All Stars Series (www.proallstarsseries.com), has been restored to its original length of 400 laps and will pay the winner $22,000. In its heyday, the All-American 400 was once known as the “Civil War on wheels.” It attracted drivers from all over North America and boasted legendary winners, including Darrell Waltrip, Jody Ridley and Rusty Wallace. PASS is working hard to restore the event to its former glory.
“We are excited about announcing the Road to the All-American 400,” said PASS President Tom Mayberry. “The All-American 400 is so special to so many people that we wanted to do something to help racers from coast to coast be a part of it.”
The Road to the All-American 400 is a series of races throughout the country that will offer guaranteed-qualifier status to the winners.
“We are honored that the Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series has been selected by PASS to be part of their 2012 Road to the All-American 400 program,” said Spears SRL Southwest Tour Managing Director Larry Collins. “Having the winner of our May 12 race at the Bullring at LVMS receive an automatic starting position in the PASS All-American 400 is a great opportunity for one of our race teams to be part of one of the great traditions in our sport.”
Saturday’s race card also will include the Lucas Oil Modified Series, NASCAR Super Late Models, NASCAR Super Stocks, NASCAR Bombers, USLCI American Band Legend Cars and USLCI Silver State Plumbing Bandoleros. The Lucas Oil Modifieds will compete in a 75-lap feature and the evening’s grand finale will be the SRL Blackjack 121. Spectator gates will open at 5 p.m.
Fans may save $5 on adult tickets by purchasing them in advance at the LVMS ticket office or online at www.LVMS.com. Adult tickets are $15 in advance (must be purchased by May 11) or $20 at the gate on race day. Discounted tickets for senior citizens and military personnel with ID are $15. Kids tickets are $8 and children ages 5 and under are free.
The Bullring’s concession stand offers a family-friendly menu, including $1 hot dogs and $1 Coca-Cola products.
