East Drivers Dominate K&N Pro Series West Race at Phoenix

East Driver, Ryan Blaney, Takes Home the Checkered

Blaney, Alex Bowman, and Chase Elliott, all K&N Pro Series East drivers, showed skills in Phoenix that were obviously learned on tracks throughout the Southeast.  Tennessee driver, Dylan Presnell, also had a good run going until a rookie mistake by West-driver Brennan Newberry ended his night.

The strong field of 40 cars put on a great show. It is a shame that Bowman and Greg Pursley go together, putting Pursley out of the race. It was obvious early on that Pursley had an excellent car.

Pursley teammate, K&N Pro Series West Rookie of the Year Dylan Kwasniewski, struggled all week trying to get up to speed.  He wrecked a car in practice and started the race in a backup car after qualifying in 18th and seemed to never get up to speed. In the midst of trying to get to the front, he over drove a corner collecting two other cars. It’s obvious that Kwasniewski needs more experience on larger tracks.

Jessica Brunelli survived an early spin to bring it home in a respectable 14th place position.

The K&N Pro Series in 2012 looks to be shaping up to be a standout year with even more new comers  coming to the field.
