Scott Saunders K&N East #49 INOX Lubricants Dodge Charger Richmond Preview
Saunders gets ready to hit the road for Richmond
After garnering some valuable experience during his first two starts, Scott Saunders and his MacDonald Motorsports No. 49 team head north to Richmond much more prepared than before. Saunders came away with 16th and 18th place finishes in his first two starts and will be looking for his first top-15 finish at Richmond Thursday night in the Blue Ox 100.
“I’ve been looking forward to the Richmond race all year and it’s finally here,” said Saunders. “I have been on iRacing a lot the past couple weeks running there with friends and I hope that can translate into some success. I really have to thank my guys for all the hard work they have been putting in on the cars and hopefully I can reward them with a solid finish Thursday night.” Scott now sits 15th in the driver standings, just 20 points out of the lead. With the points as tight as they are, a strong run at Richmond could propell Scott into the top-10.
“Even with his limited experience, Scott has shown patience and speed during these first two races,” explained Crew Chief Mark Durgin. “I am really impressed with his feedback and we are starting to make strides towards being a top-10 team. Richmond is a difficult track and the competition in the East Series is extremely tough but I think we will surprise some people this Thursday night.”
The Blue Ox 100 from Richmond International Raceway will take the green flag Thursday night at 7PM EST. Fans can also keep up with everything about Scott and his racing season on his twitter page @scottsaunders49. -Shawn Meekhof
