Katelin Longbrake Joins Concord Speedway Staff for 2012 Season

As the 2012 racing season draws near, drivers and fans can expect to see a new face around Concord Speedway. Katelin Longbrake of Charlotte, N.C., will join Concord Speedway’s staff as Director of Public Relations and Event Management.

“We are excited to have Katelin on board with us,” said David Laton, Concord Speedway Managing Partner. “Her ambition, professionalism and knowledge will be sure to open new doors for the speedway.”

Longbrake, a native of Bowling Green, Ohio, is no stranger to the motorsports industry. She began racing go-karts competitively when she was 10 years old and secured both World Karting Association Divisional Championships and several track championships. After her time in the driver’s seat solidified her love for the sport, Longbrake relocated to Charlotte in 2008 to pursue a career within motorsports. She earned a B.A. in Communication Studies with a focus in Public Relations from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte as well as a Certificate in Motorsports Management Technology from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.

However, Longbrake spent a great deal of her college career trying to gain hands-on experience whenever possible. As a past intern at Concord Speedway, she has knowledge and experience working with the speedway staff and executing the weekly events.

Longbrake also interned with Richard Petty Motorsports NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team. During her most recent internship at Charlotte Motor Speedway she helped to promote their Summer Shootout Series Legend Car and Bandolero racing events.

While at Concord Speedway, Longbrake will handle the promotion and logistics of events at both the Quarter-Mile and Half-Mile tracks.
