Charlotte Racers Expo Promises Deals for Racers of All Kinds
Racers are always looking to save a buck and the Charlotte Racers Expo offers them that chance on January 27-28 through the event’s trade show and auction.
Various exhibitors will be selling new merchandise to racers at show-special prices and the auction portion of the event will give them the opportunity to pick up used items at a significant discount.
“We’re trying something really neat with this event,” said Larry McDaniels, president of the Charlotte Racers Expo. “We have a lot of manufacturers coming to the show to display their latest and greatest parts and equipment. But unlike other shows, we’ve tried to partner all of them with an exhibiting retailer and attendees can buy the newest technology from an exhibitor right at the show and carry it home that day.”
Over 70 different exhibitors have signed up for the Charlotte Racers Expo including engine builders, shock rebuilders, safety equipment companies, general parts retailers, chassis builders for both dirt and pavement, plus a multitude of manufacturers of popular short track parts and equipment.
“It was a goal of ours in this inaugural event to cover all the areas of a racecar where someone could possibly need something,” said McDaniels. “All of our attendees should come prepared to buy products and take them home. There will be some amazing deals.”
A sponsorship and marketing seminar will also be part of the event on Saturday night, led by current UARA-STARS series announcer Tony Stevens. The seminar will cover a number of the basics including finding and keeping sponsors, social media, public relations and more. Attendance is limited to the first 40 registrations and individuals can pre-register at CharlotteRacersExpo.com.
“Tony has been around this business for a long time in various capacities – crew member, parts guy, announcer and more,” said McDaniels. “He has a lot of interesting ideas that have helped racers improve their marketing programs, ultimately resulting in more sponsorship dollars for their racing programs. His seminar should be full of useful information.”
The Charlotte Racers Expo will open to the general public on Friday, January 27, at 2pm and remain open until 8pm. A special Expo concert at nearby Puckett’s Farm Equipment starts at 9pm on Friday night. On Saturday, January 28, the show and auction opens to the public at 9am and closes at 7pm. A more detailed schedule is available online at CharlotteRacersExpo.com.
Tickets for the event are only $10 per day with $5 coupons available from various speed shops, chassis manufacturers and racing parts retailers across the region. Fans can also “like” the Charlotte Racers Expo on Facebook for insider information, contests, freebies and discounts.
