CARS Trade Show Rocks Hickory!
The Inaugural Carolina Auto Racing Show (CARS) was well attended by a record-setting crowd as Racers from both the Dirt and Asphalt Racing communities converged on the Hickory Convention Center to shake off the Winter cold and spend a day visiting with old friends and new. The CARS Show was well presented and the events went very smoothly as Racers and their Crews learned of new technology developments and upcoming Racing Series Schedules and programs.
Legendary Promoter Humpy Wheeler was on hand to sign copies of his new book, Growing Up NASCAR.
Humpy addressed a packed room of fellow Track Promoters and Participants who enjoyed an off-the-cuff account of how Humpy convinced Dale Earnhardt to take up the reins of the Robosaurus car-eating monster attraction and bring out the largest crowd ever to attend a NASCAR Busch Series event at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Friday’s Show Day was attended by many who could get away from their jobs early, but Saturday’s crowd was very impressive as the aisles were often jammed with full Race Teams and racing families strolling through a virtual toy store of racing parts, services and equipment.
At the conclusion of the event, show organizers released plans to the Exhibitors for the 2013 CARS Show to grow and evolve into a Premier Regional Destination for the Racing Industry to conduct its business with a distinct Carolina accent.
