Tyler Young Takes Support of Program For Post-Combat Veterans to Rockingham
CARS Pro Cup Series driver Tyler Young, who’s fifth in the series standings entering Saturday’s season finale at Rockingham Speedway, will again carry the Manpower to Horsepower logo on his Chevrolet.
It is the fourth time this year and the third straight race in which the Midland, Texas, native has provided publicity for the non-profit organization for post-combat veterans.
“I’m glad I can let people know about this wonderful program via my race car,” said Young, who had the Manpower to Horsepower logo on his car’s hood when he earned his first career pole at Hickory Speedway earlier this year. “We all owe them a tremendous amount for preserving our freedom so we can do what we enjoy.”
In 12 races this year, the 21-year-old Young has posted six top-5s and 10 top-10s, led 250 laps and completed 95.3 percent of the laps run.
In its second year, Manpower to Horsepower is an organization that creates an atmosphere of mentoring, friendship and rehabilitation through motorsports for post-combat veterans. Its facility serves as a full service, hands-on rehabilitation center where veterans can work together while receiving real racing exposure at the shop and the tracks. Affiliated with the motorsports management program at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, it is possible for veterans to obtain a certificate or an associate degree via the program.
