Lofton Set for '12 with Coulter, Strutmasters.com
Coulter Motorsports and development driver Matt Lofton will continue their relationship into the 2012 season as Lofton will compete in at least 15 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards races in the No. 16 Strutmasters.com Chevrolet Impala SS.
Lofton has five career ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards starts and earned a career high sixth-place finish at Kansas Speedway last October as part of Coulter Motorsports' driver development program. The young racer also has 38 career USAR Pro Cup starts, in which he earned six top-five and 15 top-10 finishes.
"I'm excited to work with Coulter Motorsports once again this year," Lofton, 27, said. "We ended 2011 strong with a top-10 finish at Kansas and I hope to carry that momentum over to this year. The guys in the shop have been working hard to make sure we unload strong once we hit the track in Daytona. Also, having Joey (Coulter) as a teammate to lean on for advice will be beneficial to our time and make serious gains at the track."
Strutmasters.com, a long-time supporter and sponsor for most of Lofton's illustrious racing career, will continue its partnership with the Roxboro, N.C. native and Coulter Motorsports, as the suspension distributer will adorn the hood of Lofton's No. 16 Chevy Impala SS for all 15 races.
"Strutmasters.com has been a great sponsor and stuck by me over the course of my career," said Lofton. "I'm proud that they're continuing their support full-time in the ARCA Racing Series this season."
The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season will open Saturday in the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 at Daytona International Speedway, which will air live on SPEED at 4:30 p.m.
