Coulter Motorsports officials announced today that Roxboro, N.C. native Matt Lofton has signed on to drive the team's No. 16 Chevrolet Impala SS in the 2012 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season.

Lofton rejoins Coulter Motorsports after making three previous starts in 2011, two in the ARCA Racing Series and one in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Team officials laid out the preliminary race schedule, which includes at least 15 ARCA races, comprised of the 10 events on SPEED and the races at Mobile, Salem (April and September), Winchester, and Madison.

"We are thrilled to be announcing Matt's 2012 plans with Coulter Motorsports in the ARCA Racing Series," said crew chief Jon Wolfe. "He is a very talented race car driver who has shown everyone he can get the job done. The whole team is looking forward to a great season with much success, kicking off at Daytona next month."

Longtime supporter and sponsor Strutmasters.com will once again be joining Lofton, marking their seventh year as a dynamic sponsor and driver combination.

Strutmasters builds automotive struts and springs for cars and SUVs equipped with air suspension, and also provides both replacement air ride suspension parts - including air springs, air struts, compressors, air bag suspension and dryers - and conversion kits that convert your car to high quality passive suspension systems. Air shocks, air springs, air struts, and other air ride suspension parts wear out. Strutmasters give you the option of replacing them with top quality passive suspension parts engineered to fit your specific application. Strutmasters has been designing and building suspension kits and conversions since 1999, the year the company produced its first Lincoln air suspension kit. Strutmasters also maintains a fleet of test cars for trying out new products.

Set to lead the No. 16 Strutmasters.com Coulter Motorsports team is 2010 ARCA champion crew chief Jon Wolfe. Wolfe, who worked with Lofton during his three races in 2011, is no stranger to the racing scene at Coulter Motorsports, having worked with several of their drivers last season.

"I am very excited to be announcing my 2012 racing schedule and am honored to be rejoining such an esteemed team as Coulter Motorsports," said Lofton. "We all gelled really quickly last season and worked well together, which I know will translate into this season. I'm energized for racing action to commence at Daytona and to kick off a great start to our season."

Lofton and team are set to kick off their 2012 venture, including a quest for Rookie of the Year honors, at the season-opening Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, February 18. The race will air live on SPEED.
